Caroline Hare

After completing her undergraduate degree (with First Class Honours) and Forensic Masters (with Distinction) in the UK, Caroline achieved Chartered status as a Forensic Psychologist with the British Psychological Society in 2008. She worked for the National Offender Management Service of England and Wales for almost a decade, holding positions in prisons and the community, and working with juvenile and adult male and female offenders. Prior to relocating to Australia in 2012, Caroline led a large multi disciplinary custodial team at senior management level.

Caroline has primarily worked in private practice in NSW since arriving in Australia, undertaking psychological assessments for the Local, District and Supreme Courts, and various tribunals. Caroline has delivered individual and group therapy to offenders, including sexual and violent offenders, and offenders with Intellectual Disability. She has also developed and delivered psychological training and has provided supervision to psychologists and other professionals.

Professional Acreditations and Memberships

Caroline is endorsed as a Forensic Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, and she is an approved Primary Supervisor with the Board. Caroline is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology and Law (ANZAPPL). She previously served two terms as Chair of the NSW Branch of the Australian Psychological Society's College of Forensic Psychologists. Caroline remains registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the UK’s Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Caroline holds additional professional qualifications, including an Expert Witness Certificate awarded by Cardiff University Law School and has been formally trained in the administration of a range of psychological and risk assessment protocols.

Caroline is currently a PhD candidate at Charles Sturt University. Her thesis aims to explore protective factors that contribute to desistance in sexual reoffending in men convicted of sexual offences.
